Counselling and therapy in Loughborough
Does life feel like it's getting on top of you?
Could you benefit from a place to take some time-out?
... to explore your thoughts and feelings
... help you to get back on track
We all face adversity at different times in life. Sometimes, life is tough but we get by on our own or with support of family and friends. At other times, we can feel completely overwhelmed and on our own with no idea how to move forward. At such times, counselling can really help. I am here to offer you a helping hand. Providing you with a safe, calm space to explore your situation, without judgement and at a pace that suits you. There are a lot of different reasons someone might seek counselling, you might be recently bereaved, going through a relationship breakup, be stressed with work, or feeling anxious or depressed. Perhaps you are finding it harder to cope with the demands of everyday life, feeling run down or drained of energy and motivation for things you used to enjoy. You may be worried about the health of someone close and have no-one you feel you share this with. Perhaps you have a chronic or long term health condition yourself and feel unable to share your worries and concerns with loved ones for fear of burdening them further, or maybe you are a carer feeling overwhelmed by the level of your responsibilities. Entering a different phase in life can often present challenges; some are exciting like the anticipation of a new baby or moving home, your children starting or moving schools. Others like preparing for when your children leave home for the first time may stir up a myriad of emotions - which can be a time of excitement and anxiety. You may be anticipating the change and looking forward to some time for you and your partner and at the same time find yourself worrying about how you will all adapt to the new situation. Perhaps you worry about the future what will happen if you or your partner can't work because of illness or redundancy? Are you concerned about the health of a loved one? Feeling trapped in your relationship? Recently bereaved? Perhaps you've experienced a recent traumatic or are troubled by flashbacks or memories of past traumas. The reasons that draw a person to counselling are personal and unique to that individual. Whatever your circumstances you can be assured I will listen with compassion, giving you an opportunity to share whatever is troubling you, without judgement. Why don't you give me a call or email me for a brief initial chat, tell me a little about your situation and together we can discuss what you want from counselling, and how we might work together in the future. I do not charge for a brief 15 minute call and this may help you decide if counselling with me is a good fit for you. You are under no obligation to make appointments unless you wish to do so. If you would rather make the approach by email please write to me at sharonkerrycounselling@gmail.com
