My name is Sharon Kerry.
I am an accredited counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) having qualified in 2008. I am also a trained and experienced counselling supervisor and am listed on the BACP voluntary register. My clinical practice is governed by the BACP ‘Ethical Framework for Counsellors’. I’ve always been a caring and patient person. It’s something I take a lot of pride and comfort in, and along the way I’ve faced many of my own life changing difficulties. I had counselling to help me cope with some of these difficulties and this is what started my journey. I went on a short introduction training for people interested in counselling and its spiralled form there. I realised this is something I was passionate about. I moved from one level of training to the next, and after five intense years of studying and training, I qualified as a counsellor, with Merit.
For the last 12 years I’ve worked as a part time counsellor in a range of different environments. I have worked mostly as a university counsellor. working with clients from all walks of life and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds from the ages of 17 up to 65.
And now in 2020 I have launched my own private practice!
About the way I work:
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, according to what you need. My practice is governed by the boundaries of the BACP ‘Ethical Framework for Counsellors’. My personal aim is to meet you wherever you are at. As a counsellor I respect your views and I am here to support your journey of self-discovery.
I do not offer advice. However, I will provide a non-judgemental safe space where you can talk about whatever is troubling you and help you to gain understanding and insight into your difficulties.
